A Note for Katong CC Trainees (30th Dec 2010)

Dear Parents and Students of Katong class, both Polo Sir and Poh Ling Mdm will not be in class this evening (30th Dec'10). This is due to the demise of Polo Sir's beloved Uncle.


The class will still continue as usual. Trainee instructors; Leng Kee Mdm and Michelle Mdm will take over the lesson for tonight. As our grading is near the corner, they will assist our trainees to go through their poomsae practice.

Jelutung CC - NO LESSON DURING CHRISTMAS DAY AND NEW YEAR DAY

Upcoming STF's course - National Poomsae Referees’ Course

There is an upcoming course - National Poomsae Referees’ Course, will be held on 8th-9th Jan 2011. All Senior Black belt leaders are encourage to attend this course. Currently, only Sir and Mdm are the qualified Poomsae referees for Raiders TKD. We hope to see more leaders to join in the Poomsae referee team.

This course not only trained you to be a qualified Poomsae referee, it also help a trainer to know more in-depth on Poomsae. It allows us to have the latest changes on the Poomsae, the correct execution of the poomsae, etc.

Information for Mooto Open Poomsae Championship 2010

We have attached information pertaining to the above mentioned competition. You will be able to find info as follows:- (Click on the Hyperlink to open the file detail)

1.       “Players’ Reporting Time (updated on 4th Dec 20:30hrs)” – Timing is base on estimation. It is subjected to changes depending on situations. Hence players are reminded to be there slightly earlier to avoid missing the game.

2.       “Court 1 / Court 2 / Court 3 Players” – Clearly indicates which court you will be competing in.

3.       “Duty Roaster for Raiders’ Leaders” – All Raiders’ Leaders please refer to the file and adhere to the duty as planned. You will need to deliver your duty and are responsible for the smooth operation of your dedicated roles.

All players are to be in full uniform during the competition. Players and supporters are required to wear our orange collar tee. All female players are reminded to bring along the white Raiders Club tee as well. The white tee has to be put on when in full TKD uniform.

If there is any query or doubts that you may need to clarify, please approach our leaders for assistance. Players shall report to their respective co-ordinators for all matters. In the event that you are leaving the sports hall for your home, please keep your co-ordinator informed accordingly.

Raiders' Leadership bonding - Cycling @ Pulau Ubin

Selamat Hari Raya Haji. It was a public holiday. A day whereby the adults do not have to work, students do not need to go school. 9 of us gave up the day to stay connected with our family. Instead, we took this opportunity to organise our Raiders' Leadership Bonding Day - Cycling at Pulau Ubin. We had a fun day with all kind of experiences - Hot, Wet and dirty... At first was burning hot weather, then suddenly rain heavily in the afternoon... water and dirt splashed on our body when cycling... It was indeed a tiring and yet enjoyable day!!! We hope to bring all our leaders closer and get bonded.

RAIDERS’ CHARITY DAY 2011 – TERRY FOX RUN

It’s gonna be our another yearly Raiders’ event day. Ever since our 1^st Raiders’ Fun Day on 29^th May 2010, our event committee has been constantly brainstorming for ideas for our next Raiders’ event. This time round, Raiders TKD would like to promote charity awareness to our trainees. We are organizing the Raiders’ Charity Day 2011 – Terry Fox Run.

“Terry Fox was a Canadian humanitarian, athlete, and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated, he embarked on a cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Although the spread of his cancer eventually forced him to end his quest after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 mi), and ultimately cost him his life, his efforts resulted in a lasting, worldwide legacy. The annual Terry Fox Run, first held in 1981, has grown to involve millions of participants in over 60 countries and is now the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research; over C$500 million has been raised in his name.” (extracted from Wikipedia). We hope to pass on his virtue to our members.

Being a TKD exponent, not only are we physically fit and agile, we should also possess the right positive attitude and be passionate to the needy. While we are enjoying ourselves to the fullest, let’s not forget about the less fortunate ones who need our help too. We should be grateful for the comfort zone that we are in. Hence, it is time for us to pay tribute to the society. Thru this Charity event, we hope to instill the good characteristics of a charitable deed to all our members; for you shall be our future leaders to the society.  

Let us all work towards the good deed and contribute our part. We hope to see the charitable support from all our members and their families. We strongly look forward to your support to make this Raiders’ Charity Day 2011 a successful one.

Jelutung CC -- No Training on both 13th & 20th Nov 2010

All Parents and Students of Jelutung CC, to be informed that there will be no Training sessions for coming two Saturday on 13th Nov and 20th Nov. As per advised by the Jelutung CC management that the training Hall is not available on these dates.

As per our Poh Ling Mdm had announced last Saturday session, Jelutung students who wish to come to Wednesday Class for extra training (8pm--9:30pm), you may join in the training. Especially those going for December Poomsae tournament and Jan 2011 Grading, you are strongly encourage to attend.

MOOTO Open Poomsae Championships 2010

To all Raiders, there will be an upcoming Poomsae championship in 5th Dec 2010. This is open to all students (Yellow-tip and above) who are interested to participate.

If you are interested to participate, please do inform Baoling Mdm asap and she will pass you the registration form during next training class. And do also get ready one photocopy of your Student Pass or NRIC for registration submission.

A gentle reminder to Jelutung Class and Rivervale Class students, there will be NO taekwondo training on this coming Saturday (25th Sept) and Sunday (26th Sept).

Katong CC class: No Taekwondo lesson on 16th Sept

Students and Parents from Katong CC, a gentle reminder - there is NO taekwondo lesson on this Thurs (16th Sept 2010). As per announced last week, Instructors are involved in the "Appreciation Nite for the YOG Volunteer Workforce".

We apologized for any inconvenience that may arise and Lesson will resume on 23rd Sept.

Raiders’ Achievements for 37th National TaeKwonDo Championship 2010

The 37^th National TaeKwonDo Championship 2010 has finally come to a closure. It was a tiring 2 weekends but overall enjoyable. Seeing our young players displaying the essence of TKD and upholding the spirit brings joy and warmth to all our coaches who have been coaching and guiding them for the past years. Raiders have fielded 21 players and we achieved a total of 15 Medals. We managed to clinch 7 Golds, 4 Silvers and 4 Bronzes. To all our Medallists, you deserved the honours and we are very proud of you. To those who didn’t get any medals, pls do not be discouraged. You did not lose anything. In fact, you have gotten the much needed experience for you to do better in the next Championship. Continue to train harder and we shall reap what we sow!

This year’s national championship marks a very memorable one for all our Raiders members. Besides the 15 medals, we managed to clinch a further of 2 outstanding awards. They are (1) Best Female Player and (2) Overall Champion for Senior 1 Female Category. Our Chief Instructor, Poh Ling Mdm has got her very first personal achievement. The Best Female Player Trophy was awarded to none other than our Poh Ling Mdm. Congrats! We are proud of our Mdm!

Just as we were all delighted and happy for our Mdm’s achievement, we are overjoyed again when they announced that the Overall Champion for the Senior 1 Female Category goes to Raiders! It was a double happiness for all of us at the scene. Good Job Raiders!! 2 outstanding awards in a night! Keep it up!

Last but not least, we would also like to thank our Raiders’ Referees, Benny Teo, Catherine Seah and Chee Kit Ying. Their presence and contribution are very much appreciated by all our players and coaches. Thank you so much!!

On Day-2... We had achieved 6 GOLDs and 4 BRONZEs Medals out of our 12 players today.

GOLD Medallists: Poh Ling Mdm, Michelle Lee Mdm, Benroy, Hafeez, Ryan Wan, and Darren Phang.

BRONZE Medalists: Kit Ying Mdm, Mirza, Andy Tan, Gabriel Tay, 

All our GOLD Medalists had fought very well to get into Final and they WON their Honour....  and our dear PohLing Mdm has live up to her Legend!!!
