STF Workshop: Unarmed Combat Course for Poom Belts and Blackbelts

STF will be conducting an Unarmed Combat (Level 1) Course on 14, 15, 21 and 22 May 2011 for poom belts and black belts.

Black/Poom belt who are going for your 2nd or higher Dan/Poom, you are encourage to attend. Interested trainees please register with Mdm with the completed registration form and fee submission before May 2011.

 Our tripod web link is mainly for the photo albums (various Raiders’ Events), poomsae links and other archives information. It also consists of our club’s achievements and background etc.

 Blogspot link is solely for daily announcement where we will keep all our trainees and parents informed of any upcoming events such as local and oversea tournaments, grading, payments, courses, cancellation of classes etc. This is so that trainees and parents can log in to the link to find out any info that they may need if they happen to miss the particular lesson and miss out the daily announcement made.

Students, who are not taking the transport and wish to go to the Sports Hall on their own, please assemble at the Main Entrance of the Sports Hall by 9.15am sharp.

 

Gentle Reminder: Groin guard is Compulsory for sparring. Green belt and above who are going for April 2011 Grading, all must have your groin guard and wear it inside dobok pant during sparring session. This applied to all Black/Poom helpers who are involved the sparring partner.

 

 

8th TTSC Invitation Championship - Melaka – MALAYSIA

This year the TTSC International Invitational championship fall in July 2011 -- This Malaysia trip is expected from 29th July (Fri) -- 31st July (Sun). 

Would like to open this invitational to all Raiders' Students who are interested to participate in Poomsae, Kyorugi or both.

Poom to Dan Conversion

Extracted from STF official site:

"Coaches should remind their active 1st poom holders to convert their grade to 1st dan on reaching the age of 15.  Otherwise, they will be at a disadvantage as they will not be allowed to take their 2nd dan until one year after the conversion.  Furthermore, they may face difficulty when they serve their national service as the SAF only recognizes dan certification. Coaches should also make it clear to all poom belt holders that conversion from poom to dan is automatic only if they continue training till they reach 15 years old.  If they stop training after obtaining their grade, they will have to re-join the club and train for at least six months to qualify for conversion. The six-month training requirement is for the coaches to assess the suitability of their poom belt holders for the conversion.  If the coaches are not satisfied, they have the right to prescribe a longer training period for their trainees before recommending the conversion. The conversion fee is $30 with effect from 1 April 2011."

New Ruling for 3rd Poom Grading

Extracted from STF official site:

"In response to numerous requests by club coaches, the STF Management Committee, in its meeting on 15 March 2011, has agreed to allow candidates for 2^nd to 3^rd poom to take their grading with their other club members.

They will no longer be required to take their promotion tests with the other candidates for dan grades.

The new ruling will take effect from April 2011 grading."

Compulsory Use of Groin Guard - By STF

All Students are to wear Groin guard during Sparring session in the training class and also for the Grading day too. This applied to those Black/Poom belt grading helpers.

STF had officially announced that "With effect from April 2011 grading, groin guards will also be compulsory for female candidates."

Green belt and above who are going for April 2011 Grading, if you don't have your Groin guard, please contact Mdm to place your order. You'll not be allowed to grade if you don't wear your groin guard for your Grading's sparring.
